SUPPORT THE EDGARLEY FUNDRAISING APPEAL

Edgarley Home Incorporated has been providing aged care services to the region’s elderly for almost 60 years. Now the community-owned, not-for-profit facility needs your help.

The reality is that government funding is just not keeping pace with the increasing demand in our region for aged care. In fact funding levels are declining, and more and more of the limited funding available is going into services that allow the elderly to stay in their own homes. But that is not a desired or realistic option for everyone.

For some members of our community the best approach is a place like Edgarley where they not only receive excellent care but escape the very real issue of social isolation. Being at Edgarley where they enjoy daily interaction with staff and other residents, and all the people that visit, can make a huge difference to someone’s happiness and quality of life. And people need to have that choice in their own backyard.

About the appeal
The Make a Difference campaign aims to raise $200,000 so we can ensure ongoing high standards of care for our residents.
All the money raised will go towards buying essential new equipment. In fact, we have put together a list that shows exactly what we need and how much each item will cost.
You might be surprised at some of the prices. Equipment for the aged care sector is highly specialized, but we need it to meet the standards required for accreditation, and to keep pace with modern technology. Most importantly, it will also make life easier for our residents and staff.

Tell us exactly how you want your donation spent
We have set up the appeal so you can nominate precisely how you want your donation to be spent. All you have to do is take a look at the list of equipment that we need and tell us which item you would like to help purchase. You may want to make a donation that covers the entire cost, or contribute a smaller amount towards the overall purchase price.
Donations are tax deductible and a receipt will be provided for your records.
Donors will receive a certificate of appreciation and recognition in the regular Edgarley newsletter. A special name plate will also be attached to the equipment they help fund.

About Edgarley
Established in 1955 as a not-for-profit organization with just eight residents in a single house, Edgarley today has 23 independent living units and can cater for up to 43 residents. It serves an area stretching from Hamilton and Portland to Edenhope and Mount Gambier, with current residents coming from as far as Adelaide and Ararat.
Apart from providing essential services, it is also one of the Casterton area’s largest employers, with 55 full and part-time staff, and injects millions of dollars into the local economy through salaries, and the purchase of goods and services.
